On the wall. Dead level. No cables in sight.
Anything that needs to go on a wall and stay there: TVs on brick or plasterboard, blinds and curtain poles that hold, mirrors heavy enough to be a two-person lift, and pictures hung in a line your eye believes. This is precision work with a drill, and it’s a huge part of my week.
Every wall in West London is a different argument — Victorian brick, dot-and-dab, lath and plaster, crumbly block. Knowing which fixing wins each argument is the whole job.
What I put on walls
- TVs on brick and plasterboardfixed, tilt and full-motion brackets
- Cables concealedtrunking or chased into the wall
- Soundbars and speakers
- Roller, venetian and Roman blinds
- Vertical blinds and top-fix tracks
- Curtain poles and bay-window tracks
- Heavy mirrorsthe two-person-lift ones especially
- Picture walls and gallery layoutslaid out on paper first
- Floating shelvesthat stay floating
- Coat hooks, rails and racks
- Whiteboards and pinboardshome offices a speciality
- Baby gates fitted properlypressure-fit or screwed

The right fixing for your wall
- Wall diagnosed before drilling.Detector for pipes and cables, then the right anchor: sleeve bolts in brick, toggles or a mounting board on plasterboard. A 55-inch TV on the wrong plug is a matter of time.
- Level means measured, twice.Laser level for TVs and gallery walls. ‘Looks about right’ is how pictures end up in a diagonal apology.
- Cables handled, not dangled.Concealed in trunking painted to match, or chased in where the wall allows. The black spaghetti is optional and I recommend against it.
- Blinds that fit the recess.Measured to the millimetre, child-safety cleats fitted as standard.

Mounting & hanging questions
How much does TV wall mounting cost?
From £60 with your bracket supplied, from £90 with cables concealed in trunking. Chasing cables into the wall is quoted from a photo. Tell me the TV size and what the wall’s made of and I’ll give you an exact number.
Can you mount a TV on plasterboard?
Yes — with the right approach for the board and what’s behind it: heavy-duty toggles into sound board, or a spreader board into the studs for big screens. What I won’t do is hang your TV on hope.
Do you supply brackets and blinds?
Either works. Supply your own, or tell me the size and budget and I’ll pick up quality ones at cost with the receipt.
Can you hang things on a party wall or in a rental?
Party walls, yes — sensibly sized fixings and no chasing without agreement. Rentals: with your landlord’s blessing, and I can make good the old holes on the same visit, which landlords tend to appreciate.
Will you take the old blinds or curtain pole down?
Included. Old fittings removed, holes filled, and taken away with the packaging unless you want them.
Wall ready. TV waiting?
Photo of the wall, size of the TV — exact price and a day, usually within the hour.
