The laser takes off what decades put on.

Rust, paint, graffiti and grime, vaporised layer by layer while the surface underneath stays untouched. No chemicals, no grit blasting, no mess. I bring the machine to you, anywhere within 15 miles of Hounslow — and further for bigger jobs.

What laser cleaning is

A beam of light that knows when to stop

The laser pulses at the surface thousands of times a second. Rust, paint and dirt absorb the energy and turn to dust, which gets extracted as I work. The metal, brick or wood underneath reflects the beam, so the laser physically can’t dig into it the way sandblasting or a wire wheel does. That’s the whole trick — aggressive on the muck, gentle on the material.

Gates, railings, hinges, steel and iron. The laser strips rust and flaking paint back to clean metal in one pass, ready for priming the same day. This is the most common job I do and the most satisfying to watch. Laser rust removal →

House fronts, garden walls, chimney breasts. Paint, soot and pollution staining lifted off without the saturation damage of pressure washing or the scarring of blasting. Victorian brick especially responds well. Stone & brick cleaning →

Beams, doors, furniture, floorboards. Old paint and varnish removed layer by layer without gouging the grain, and without a room full of chemical stripper fumes. Wood restoration →

Steps, sills, headstones, garden ornaments. Decades of biological growth and grime removed gently enough for heritage surfaces. Stone & brick cleaning →

Chassis parts, engine components, hand tools. Rust removed from parts that would be ruined by blasting or dipping, with no media stuck in threads afterwards. Car parts restoration →

How a laser job works

Photo first, then a confirmed price

Laser jobs vary more than handyman jobs — a hinge is twenty minutes, a house front is a day — so I price every one individually. Send a photo on WhatsApp with rough sizes and I’ll tell you two things: whether laser is the right method (sometimes it honestly isn’t), and what it’ll cost. On the day I mask the area, clean, extract the dust, and show you the surface up close before I pack up. Most metalwork can be primed the same afternoon, which I can do as part of the visit — I’m also your handyman, after all.

Guide pricing

Every laser job is priced individually — the surface, how bad it is and the access all change the work. Small items and single fixtures start at the £50 minimum call-out; everything larger gets its own quote. Price confirmed before I book the day — see the price guide.

Questions

Laser cleaning FAQ

Is laser cleaning safe for my surface?

On metal, brick, stone and most hardwoods, yes — the beam removes the contaminant and reflects off the sound material beneath. On a few surfaces (some soft renders, certain plastics) it’s the wrong tool, and I’ll say so from your photo rather than find out on your wall.

Is it noisy or messy?

It’s about as loud as a vacuum cleaner, which is essentially what runs alongside it — the dust is extracted as I work. No grit, no chemical smell, no skip needed.

Can you do it at my house, or do I bring things to you?

Both. The machine travels in the van for gates, railings, walls and anything fixed. Small items like car parts and tools can be collected or dropped off. I cover all 24 areas around Hounslow and will travel further for day-rate jobs.

How much does laser cleaning cost?

From the £50 minimum call-out for small items, with every larger job priced individually — no two surfaces come up the same. Every job gets a confirmed quote from a photo first — price guide here.

Is it environmentally friendly?

More than the alternatives: no chemicals, no run-off into drains, no spent blasting media to landfill. The waste is a small amount of extracted dust.

I’ll tell you if the laser is right for it, what it’ll cost, and when I can come — usually within the hour.
