I read the instructions so you don’t have to
Somewhere in your home is a box that’s been a piece of furniture for three weeks in theory only. I build flat-pack for a living: IKEA, Argos, Wayfair, Dunelm and the mystery brands, assembled square, anchored to the wall where they should be, packaging gone when I leave.
A two-door wardrobe is £120, most other pieces are quoted flat from the product link, and multiple pieces in one visit always work out cheaper. The Allen key stays in its bag.

Built square, fixed safe
- Anchored to the wall, every time.Wardrobes, bookcases and drawers get anti-tip fixings as standard. Non-negotiable in homes with kids — sensible in every home.
- Square matters more than speed.A wardrobe racked out of square never closes right. I check diagonals before a single cam lock is tightened.
- Faults spotted early.I inspect panels as I unpack — if the manufacturer has drilled something wrong, you’ll know before it’s built, and I can usually work around it.
- The boxes leave with me.Cardboard, polystyrene, seventeen plastic bags: gone. You get furniture, not a recycling project.
“Great communication. Turned up early which was a bonus. Very pleased with the work Pawel did. Putting a large ikea wardrobe together is not easy. Very friendly and professional. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be using his services again. Thank you”MyBuilder customer, West Drayton · Wardrobe assembly · MyBuilder, Jun 2025 — read all 50+ reviews
Flat-pack questions
How much does IKEA assembly cost?
A two-door wardrobe is £120 flat. For anything else, send me the product link or a photo of the box and I’ll give you a fixed price — usually within the hour. Several pieces in one visit is always the best value.
How long does a PAX wardrobe take?
A single frame with hinged doors is typically 2–3 hours; sliding doors and multi-frame runs take longer. I’ll tell you the realistic time with the quote, not the optimistic one.
Do you anchor furniture to the wall?
Yes, as standard, with fixings suited to your wall — brick, block or plasterboard. Furniture tip-overs are a real hazard for small children, so I don’t treat the wall strap as optional.
The manufacturer sent a damaged panel — now what?
I check panels as I unpack, so we’ll catch it early. Small faults I can usually fix or work around on the spot; genuine replacements I’ll identify precisely so your reorder is right first time.
Do you take the packaging away?
Always. It’s part of the job, not an extra.
Still in the box?
WhatsApp the product link and I’ll send a fixed price and a build day — often this week.
